Do you ever wake-up from a dream and try to figure out "what was that?" I (Sal)started to search for more understanding after I came to a personal relationship with God in 1996. After becoming more familiar with Scriptures, I began to seek God on the meaning of my dreams.

I sometimes get dreams during the day too, which I try to take time seeking God on what it was all about. Now I have a notebook with a pen right besides my bed to record any dreams I have. I even record the time of the dream.

Am I being too spiritual? When I went to a christian conference ("Hear & Obey" in 2001), one of the speakers layed hands on me and shared what God has been doing in my life-including my dreams. He specifically shared that God has been waking me up in the middle of the night-sometimes 3x (like Solomon)-and giving me a message. I was suprised to hear this from him while he was "prophesying" to me during this conference.

I still have this recorded message in writing-along with many others from dreams, visions, and prophetic words in the past. If you are reading this, I really encourage you to seek God and record these "prophetic words".

"Deja-Vu?"

Have you ever felt you've been to a certain place before and you know it was your first time there? Well, that just happend to me this past weekend-Saturday, Janurary 31st 2004! I was in downtown St. Paul and was looking for a restroom, and BINGO-I remembered this particular place in a dream. I immediatedly start asking God what made this place so significant? He "divinely" gave me a "witnessing" opportunity (see "Hmong: Roots from the Middle East">!)

I had another "deja-vu" experience this past weekend (March 10th of 2007). I drove 2 UMM Int'l Students (from China) to the Mall of America from Morris. I was dropping them off before heading back to St. Paul visiting family for the weekend. Well, as I drop them off by Sears, I notice the location was in my dream sometime ago. The dream happened at night and I walking by the "Mall of America" sign (ground level) in the northeast corner of the mall. I started praying and asking God if anything he wanted to show me here. I saw a group of young folks walking by and then I started to just pray for them. That's about it and I just drove home with this in mind and prayer.

Dream of a Glimpse of Hell

I had a dream that I still remember to this day when I was in college. A friend from church invited me to do a tape recording of his radio show "Living Waters". This particular show, we were going to do a story of "Hell". I was to play a guy who goes to "Hell" and was given a script prior to our rehearsals on a Saturday morning. Well, I studied and practiced it the night before. That evening, I would have a dream of a glimpse of "Hell". I was in my bed and felt my jaw locked together. I tried to physically open it, but I couldn't. I then woke (in my dream still) -up and saw a demon on the corner of my bed. Remembering from Scripture, I told "it" to go away in "Jesus' name". Through this, I was able to open my jaw. I then woke-up from my dream and was sweating. That day, I was able to get ready for rehearsals for this skit as I had this personal experience of "Hell"...(see Deceiver)

"Dreams" by Craig a Women's Aglow Meeting in Best Western: Prairie Inn on Tuesday, November 5th of 2003

Below are some notes I took (11/5/03) last night at a Women's Aglow meeting, where they had a speaker that shared on "Dreams". The speaker is from Central-Minnesota, and has shared an many other Women Aglow meetings and other related events.

To show his validity, he encouraged each of us to seek God personally and grow in the knowledge of Him. Also, he didn't put himself on top of a "pedestal" and told us we should not go to anyone, but God-when seeking on understanding dreams...

"...drink your own cistern-water" (2 Kings 18:31 or Proverbs 5:15)
"...master of own city"

He has had an interesting experience in hearing from God through his dreams, which he shared many experiences that I can relate to:

"10 Advices when you get a Dream"
*I also added some additional notes from what I received with my current knowledge of the Bible in my walk so far in Christ.

1. Pay Attention
*Warning to Pay Attention
"1We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will."-Hebrews 2:1-2
*reflect on dreams later, which you seen it fulfilled a (day, week, year, etc..) in the future. Wait on God for His timing for revelation or revealing your dream to others.

2. Pray to remember
*"Heavenly Father, I ask you to break the silence from me hearing from what you are saying to me in this dream..." (example)

3. Journal or Record your Dreams
a. In 5 minutes, you lose about 1/2 of your memory of the dream.
b. In 10 minutes, you lose 90%
*Like what I do-that was mentioned above-I put a notebook besides me wherever I sleep at with a pen. Also, a Bible too around, so you can look up Scriptures to have a better Biblical understanding.

4. Pray to Interpret
a. A picture of a lion, need discernment from the Holy Spirit to see if it symbolize of God or Satan

5. Take time to ponder
a. The speaker shared some personal experience with this when he took time with God for 7 days and 7 nights in his basemement-fruit cellar, which he has done 2x so far! *last night I went to bed earlier and I switched my alarm from 5:15a to 5am to have extra time to do my devotions before bed and going to work the next morning from 6a -10a.
Another way, I've tooken time from the "busy hectic American lifestyle" is fasting at least once a week and take more devotional time to read the Bible

6. Look at it symbolically
a. Read Parables
*I have the NIV Study Bible (other resources), which has a section on parables that Jesus preached on (did this only in huge crowds to better relate to his listener, which is a way God wants that personal relate-ionship with us according the speaker).
b. Some symbolic examples:
tornados in...
the front of the house (foretelling the future)
the back of the house (past)
black color (evil)
white color (good)

7. Share with a friend or body of believers (more the better to interpret with the Holy Spirit's presence of course!)
*I've shared my dreams with the people I know-especially the family in Christ, which I can share some testimonies (contact me)

8. Research Symbols
a. The speaker shared on he goes to the library to research, like going to the Chidren's Book Area on animals he see in dreams
b. Have you ever seen Angels or Jesus?
Don't try to look for these images based on what you've seen through "Hollywood" , t.v., or general perception based on "what you've heard". Angels can come in the form of a "human being", but in a peaceful gentle presence

*I also look through concordances to search the Bible on certain symbols (e.g. animals, musical instruments, similar stories, numbers, etc..), which builds my knowledge of the Bible too at the same time!

9. Study Bible
a. Read on people having dreams (e.g. Joseph in OT and NT)

10. Books, tapes, etc.. a. Look for "biblical resources" on dreams
WARNING: NOT NEW AGE!

The speaker encouraged the audience to practice on responding to these dreams. He shared how some inventions started with dreams (e.g. the sewing machine). Also, we "Christians" need to step-up in taking over psychics interpreting...

"16Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. 17This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved." 18She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!" .... for civil leaders or cops in crime scences. If you had a particular individual in your dream, pray for him and her and ask that person how he/she is doing. Ask God if it's time to share this dream with that person.

On November 14th, I had a conversation on Dreams with a friend-brother in Christ. He shared how Dreams are pretty much a collection of stored thoughts from the past. It is mostly "foretelling"(read "That We May All Prophecy"), and it is rarely "foretelling" (future prophecies). Mainly, seek the Creator for understanding and wisdom on this as He wants to draw you closer to Him!

    I feel this was a prophetic dream:

    On Monday, November 22nd 2010 I had this very vivid dream of a dark sky in the backyard where I grew-up in St. Paul. There was this huge trench or deep (10 feet wide or so and not sure how deep) hole along the back yard of the house. There was something shooting (big rocks/stones falling ??) in the direction of the trench coming from the east (facing Wisconsin). What makes this dream to write about is I had a similar dream recently (1-3 months ago), but located in a different location. It seems like there was some war or something??

    "Dr. Cherry teaches on the subject of sleep. He states that sleep problems are affecting the American population more today than ever before. Lack of sleep can affect the immune system. Many times sleep problems are stress related. Fifty-one percent of Americans have insomnia several nights per week. One report stated one in three Americans report sleep problems every night. Valerian is an herbal ingredient that increases the depth of sleep, called REM sleep. It works best in conjunction with other ingredients shown to be effective for aiding sleep.
